I am a walker.
Almost every day.
That’s about 30 miles a week.
120 miles a month.
1,400 miles a year.
These are my shoes.
My necessary tools for walking, to be kept “at-the-ready” for peak performance.
So every three months, I tie up a new pair on my size 7 trusty feet.
This is my encourager. My rambunctious collie, Willow Joy. She keeps me walking. Up hills. Over unstable surfaces. On the straight path or around curves. On a busy street or a solitary lane. Whether rainy roads , snowy trails, blazing sun, shady relief, 65 dew point or 15 degrees…we walk on. (I live in Wisconsin.) I have Another Encourager who walks with me. However, unlike my panting collie, He is invisible. He not only walks the paths with me…but actually makes my crooked paths straight. I may not be able to see Him…but I sure am able to see what He does.
Come along. Walk with me. It’s an amazing adventure.
We won’t be going WHERE Jesus walked. But we will learn HOW Jesus walked (by following His perfect and transforming Guidebook)…and walks with me today! A path paved with faith, adventure and purpose! Each step I hear His encouragement, “I’ve got this, Margo. Don’t wander off. This may seem arduous and long, but it really is My best for you. I love you. Every path, I take you on, is always for your good and My glory. Walk on.” He reminds me what His Father promised, “Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road in the desert, rivers in the badlands.” Isaiah 43:18 MSG
So, I walk. One step after another. His hand always there, immediately clasping mine if I trip up a bit, maybe even fall…but my Encourager, Jesus, will always pick me up…and set me back on the straight path.
Ready to walk on! Unlike my collie…
