The Father’s Goodness: Full Of His Flavor

Dec 20, 2016 | Posted by Margo Fieseler | Devotionals |

“I bless GOD every chance I get; my lungs expand with his praise.
Look at Him; give Him your warmest smile. Never hide your feelings from Him.
GOD ’s angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray. Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see— how good GOD is.
Blessed are you who run to him.
Psalm‬ ‭34‬:‭1, 5, 7-8

Do I bless Almighty God every chance I get? OR am I looking for Him to bless me and my loved ones, every chance He gets? Hmmm. I think I might have this backward.

WHO He is…is more than enough to cause me to bless Him! To extol His goodness and holiness. To glorify Him. To see His divine fingerprints touching every part of my life. Plus, my loved ones, my neighbors, my co-workers, my friends…the world! That thought alone should cause my lungs (which He created) to expand in praise!

Then why don’t I give Him my warmest smile? I find myself just glancing at Him. Instead of sharing my honest feelings, I pretend to be okay. God didn’t create me in His image to be “just okay”. He wants to be my everything. In fact, He wants to be so intimate with me that He already has His angels setting up a circle of protection around me while I call out to Him.

He desires that I choose to experience His goodness. He’s all around me. He’s the Self-Revealing God.

I see others basking in His presence, but until I open my mouth and actually taste for myself…I am missing out. Tasting is personal. I can’t taste for you. You can’t taste for me. But when I finally open my mouth and taste…I will taste and see that the LORD is good.

What am I waiting for? I will run to Him, blessing God all along the journey. And as I keep putting one foot in front of the other, moving toward Him, He is already blessing me. He is already rewarding me.

So, what are you waiting for? Run toward Him with your warmest smile, your biggest praise…blessing Him every chance you get.

FROM THE COMMUNUTY

Yesterday my mom fell again walking outdoors at her apartment…She is okay & was released from hospital after a few hours. On the drive to West Bend after we got the call…I found complete peace just loving my God & knowing He was in control of the situation no matter what it was. And then reading your devotion today made my heart cry out with a love for Him that can’t be put into words.
Thank you & thank you & thank you for listening & obeying the Lord.
