The Father’s Faithfulness: Battle is Already Won

October 8, 2019 Posted by Margo Fieseler Uncategorized

“Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet.
Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life.      God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.”    Ephesians 6:13-18 MSG

If I need weapons, that must mean I’m in a battle. Weapons aren’t issued for idyllic times. And God Himself has issued me specific weapons. My job is to take them and use them so I am always prepared for an attack… a bold, in-my-face attack or a sneaky behind-my-back attack. Either way, I will still be standing when it’s all said and done.

God’s weapons don’t seem like weapons to me. They seem like clothing. Something I put on that covers me.

That’s it! His weapons do all the work. Just like I put on Under Armor to keep the cold away. It’s the nature of the Under Armor that is my weapon against the cold. Same with God’s weapons. It’s His nature that I “put on” and He protects me from the battles that rage against me.

However, I need to take His weapons. I need to recognize that I need all the help I can get. Just like the battle of staying warm in cold temperatures. I can know all about Under Armor and how it works to stay the cold, but if I don’t take that “weapon” and put it on, I certainly won’t be prepared. My body is up against far more than it can handle on its own.

But God’s weapons are for a lifetime of use. They never wear out. They will always blaze the way before me and protect me. (Remember, you’ll be standing when all that’s left is the shouting.)

 Truth will always win out!

Righteousness (being right with God) is a gift for the taking.

Peace…the peace of God that passes all understanding…will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Faith takes God at His Word and acts on it.

Salvation assures us that we walk with God here and live forever with God there!

God’s Word, the Bible, will be on the attack,  allowing you to be strong in what you say and do.

And prayer…two-way communication with your Most High General…is essential for navigating through the battles. If that communication is damaged, you will wander aimlessly into the enemy’s  territory making you a prime target.

Keep your eyes open. See what He sees. Take your God-issued weapons. Be prepared.  Read His Victory Log, the Bible! And pray…that person who advances on his knees, never retreats!

The Father’s Joy: Real Refreshment!

Mar 18, 2015

"In your great love revive me so I can alertly obey your every word. What you say goes, God, and stays, as permanent as the heavens. Your truth never goes out of fashion; it’s as up-to-date as the earth when the sun comes up. Your Word and truth are dependable as ever; that’s what you ordered—you set the earth going." Psalm 119:90-93 MSG How do you get revived? Rejuvenated? Refreshed? Does a well-timed nap do it? A day at the spa? Taking a walk? Talking to a friend? Praying? The Psalmist, David, knew that God"s great love...His unconditional love...would revive him. And where did he run to personally experience that love? God's Great Love Story...aka God's Word...the Bible. He had the settled joy, the settled hope that what God says, goes. No debate. No doubt. Just trusting in God's unfailing, "permanent-as-the- heavens" Word. That's WHY he could be revived. He didn't wish that what God said was true. He KNEW! He was declaring that his personal YHWH God, and His spoken Word, IS truth and "dependable as ever." David knew where to run to be revived. He knew WHO would revive him. Before David needed to be refreshed, He knew The Refresher. That's important. If you don't know who to run to BEFORE you need Him, you will end up stewing in your circumstances or running aimlessly after all the wrong things and wrong people. And here's the clincher! What was David's purpose in being revived? "So I can alertly obey your every word!" He ran to God's Word to be revived so he could know His every Word. Why? To obey! To do the next right thing! What? Yup, there's the answer to being revived.. Know God. Know His Word. Be revived. Obey His Word to... Know God. Know His Word Be revived. Obey His Word to... What real refreshment...God-style! And the deeper you go with Him, the deeper your personal revival! His Word will never fail you, only rejuvenate!

FROM THE COMMUNUTY

Yesterday my mom fell again walking outdoors at her apartment…She is okay & was released from hospital after a few hours. On the drive to West Bend after we got the call…I found complete peace just loving my God & knowing He was in control of the situation no matter what it was. And then reading your devotion today made my heart cry out with a love for Him that can’t be put into words.
Thank you & thank you & thank you for listening & obeying the Lord.
