Frequently Asked Questions
Fort Wilderness is a not for profit year-round Christian camp located just north of Rhinelander, WI. Fort was founded in 1956, and hosts 8,000 campers each year with the help of 300 staff and volunteers.
(mfm has reserved the entire camp for our weekend).
Upon arrival check in at the INN which is the building on your right after you pull in to the camp parking lot. Each person needs to come in, sign a waiver (if not signed in advance) and receive room assignment.
Thursday Arrival option: Arrive at 5 pm or after (no meal provided, limit food available in the canteen from 6-7:30pm we suggest you eat before arriving at camp. 7:30pm Devotional (lantern hike to follow)
Friday Arrival option: Arrive at 4:00pm or after (dinner served at 5:30) 7:00pm Opening Session (please note that if you are Friday arrival you are not able to check in before 4:00pm
All campers staying in a CABIN should bring their own personal towels, blankets/sheets or sleeping bags, and pillows. Each cabin has its own private bathrooms (1 toilet, 1 shower, 2 sinks) with 5 bunk beds, please note: If you are unable to sleep on the top bunk you will need to indicate that on the registration.
The INN is a hotel-style facility with its own private bath and shower. One set of towels is provided for the entire weekend, feel free to bring more if needed. Rooms have queen size and a mixture of twin size beds sleeping 3-6 ladies.

The Fort kitchen staff works hard to make tasty meals. They can accommodate gluten, nut and dairy allergies as well as some special diets related to specific medical needs. If you are gluten free please plan to bring your own bread and desserts as Fort does NOT provide these items. In the past Fort has provided some GF options but they are not guaranteed.If you are on a diet by choice, such as vegan or low-carb, you will have to make your own arrangements to maintain your diet. A salad bar is available at lunch and dinners throughout the weekend.
Casual clothing, warm jackets, sweatshirts, rain gear (ie jacket, umbrella, boots), hiking boots, horseback riding clothes, flashlight/phone, Bible (if you do not have one we will provide one), notebook, and folding/lawn chair and a blanket for the campfire.

SUNDAY DEPARTURE
The last session will end at approximately 12 noon Sunday. Please plan on attending that last session as it is a culmination of all the teachings throughout the weekend. You won’t want to miss what God has planned.

All vehicles should be parked in the main parking lot or in the RV sites located at the back of camp during your stay.
Fort Wilderness is a dry camp, no alcoholic beverages are allowed. Smoking is allowed in the designated areas ONLY.

Cancellation Policy: Cancel on or before 8/1/21 – amount paid minus $50 will be refunded, cancel after 8/1/21 – total amount is non-refundable. Fees are fully transferable, for the same retreat that year, if you can find someone who hasn’t registered yet.
